Any advice on how to feed a sick cat?

You might try baby food (without onion). It would be thin enough to use the
syringe to feed the kitty as well and could kick start the appetite.

You might try sprinkling something like Parmesan cheese on the food to make it

When I had to syringe feed one of my cats I mixed his wet food with
some water and some Nutrical in the blender and syringe fed him that
3x daily. It's not fun trying to syringe feed a cat. I wrapped him up
in a towel and would give him about 1/4 of the syringe at a time so he
wouldn't gag and vomit it all up. I did this for about a week before I
could finally coax him to eat by offering some nice stinky tuna fish.
