[OT] My father-in-law passed away this morning

passed away, after a heart attack. He had been in extreme pain from
the broken vertebrae, so he is thankfully no longer suffering.

He was almost 90 years old, and lived a very full life. We will miss
him a lot.

I'm sorry to hear this. I'm glad he didn't linger in the hospital in
severe pain for a long time. Compared to England, the concept of
palliative medicine is barely practiced in America.
