Boyfriend the Brave: update
Thanks to everyone's purrs, my house suffered no damage at all from the
wind. I lost a bit of my greenhouse roof but all chickens, geese and their huts present and correct this morning. When I got up. the wind had eased to 50 mph - so the radio said. Still felt pretty breezy ;-) It's reduced again this evening, probably around 30 mph now. I haven't dared to look at the huge willow tree at the bottom of the garden. I fear it will have suffered loss, it has massive and very long limbs. I'll go down there tomorrow. I am * so* impressed by Boyfriend "helping" me like that. Okay, he couldn't do anything but I really felt comforted that he was there by my side. I liked it that he walked just in front of me with his tail right up. I still don't really understand why he did it, as my experience of cats has been that they are quite selfish, and mainly out to make their own lives comfortable. That he got soaked to the skin, and nearly blown away just to be by my side in the middle of the night says something about his character. Kitty stayed in the house (naturally..) No way, she said, I'm warm, do you realise what time it is? You go and get wet - idiot, let the chicken huts blow away! g Okay, I forgive her, she's an old lady. Tweed |

Glad to hear there was no more damage. Boyfriend is a good boyfriend. ) Frank is like that, too. Out on the island he will follow me around, even in terrible weather. Nikki, for her part, doesn't mind rain at all. In fact, she loves it. When it starts raining, Nikki starts purring and rushes outside. I think it's because the voles come out when it rains. Nikki has also been known to go swimming for water voles. -- Marina, Frank and Nikki marina (dot) kurten (at) pp (dot) inet (dot) fi Pics at http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/frankiennikki/ and http://community.webshots.com/user/frankiennikki |
