My Room Is Blue
What do you do with seven cats while turning a formerly sorta white
living room a sky blue #2? Well, in out case, we let them stay out and about while removing most of the furniture in the room (the entertainment center is too large and flimsy) and washing down the walls. Then we locked them into Rob's and my bedroom where they could be either in there or the enclosure. The feline complaints were incredible. Note to self, the walls are uneven, which is why they were slightly textured by the builder. Texturing covers a world of errors. We need more paint brushes for the next room to get de-whitened. Slowly we turned the room blue. There was surprisingly little blue language from the humans. Fortunately, we were able to ignore the complaints from the felines. I suspect that their language was blue, as there was a faint blue miasma when I opened the door and snuck in there to use the bathroom. We bought quick drying paint. It was dry in four hours. Impressive. We agreed that we like the new look in the living room. Total cost of make-over? About $30, several backaches, and some groans. Now to see what the critics think. We released the hou--, I mean cats. They like it!! They really like it! QC went into playful kitten mode, immediately killing a toy mouse over and over again. Four cats checked out the new position of the cat construction. Tanada snuck through the room, hoping that Pine Cone wouldn't notice her. Berfert went outside into the enclosure. After checking out the cat construction, Squeakers checked out the walls. He kept climbing up on the furniture and patting the walls with his paw. I think he was trying to see if it would attack him, but the group disagrees with me. They claim that he was bug hunting. Pine Cone tried to declare himself king of the cat construction. Merlin and Huey disputed PC's assertion. Cat wrestling at it's finest resulted. QC lifted her head. Huey froze, giving PC a chance to shove him off the side of the construction. Merlin took advantage sliding himself on the top of the construction into the space PC had to leave open in order to shove Huey. Merlin planted himself in the place of honor. PC gave up as Merlin is about impossible to budge once he plants himself. I went to the bathroom. Berfert was coming in from the enclosure. When I went back, the cats were hanging out in the living room. Huey and PC were on the construction, Squeakers and Merlin were on the recliner, QC was getting attention from her Paw, and Tanada was pouting on my rocking chair. The only cat missing was Berfert. I wasn't surprised; Berfert hates change in any form. I don't know if he went into the living room, but he didn't while we were up. We got to bed around 1:30 this morning. The living room still needs some pictures and other stuff put into place. However, we did put the large pieces back and I was able to get the crew to re-arrange the stuff where I want it. They even like it's new places. I didn't do as much as the rest of the crew (not enough paint brushes) but I'm tired, my feet are swollen, and I need a maid. But the living room is no longer a dirt showing, quasi-sterile, boring white. I want to do the dining room next. Any color suggestions to go with a dungeon decor? I'm thinking ice blue, but Rob says "yuk!" Pam S. |

(Maybe not a problem for you, but I suspect that, with all the medication, Rob may not have much appetite, but needs his nourishment.) Pam S. |

I'm nota yellow fan but my friend painted her family room a light buttery yellow with a petty rich red floral wall paper border and it is so nice and warm and friendly. I really liked it. |
