Mikey the Lovebug
Mike is feeling better; he's not back to normal yet, but he's
definitely better. The lower dose of Tapazole seems to have finally started taking effect. I hope this does it for him, as the poor baby's had a rough time lately. It's so hard when you have to watch your little darling feeling bad and can't explain things. :-( When Mike was feeling soooo rotten this last go-round, after putting him on the meds and taking him off and then putting him *back* on a lower dose, he wanted me to hold him 24 hours a day. He's always been clingy with me when very sick or very scared, but at no other time. He's always been affectionate in his own way; he wanted to be in the same room with me, but not in the same chair with me. Now, after eleven years of resolute non-lapcat-ness, he is making up for lost time. If I sit down, he's in my lap. If I stand up, he's climbing my leg. He'll get down, go to his bowl or litterbox or whatever, and come trotting back and leap back into my lap. I am not used to this behavior from my Mike, who has always been known as Mama's Little Bad-A**. If any of you have noticed a decrease in my typing skills lately, that's why; I usually am typing around the cat. ;-) I suppose the lower thyroid levels are bringing about this unprecedented loveyness - it's very sweet, but it's weird. I know this year's pirate voyage hasn't yet begun, but I am beginning to think that *my* Mike has ghosted off somewhere and left me with a snuggly double. ------ Krista Marveling |

Someone probably pointed this out before, but I hope you know (no, my
thyroid is fine, thanks) that the symptoms of an afflicted thyroid gland in hoomins can be pretty bizarre sometimes (look 'em up, if you like) so I would really feel sorry for a poor cat with this problem. Also, I'm told it takes awhile to adjust the tricky dose just right so things get back to normal again. At least the hoomins would know what's going on, unlike Mikey. Hope he's on the mend for good now. "LOL" wrote in message om... : Mike is feeling better; he's not back to normal yet, but he's : definitely better. Awwww - thanks for the update, Krista. I was wondering how Mike's been
responding since you changed his meds. Sooo very relieved he is feeling better! It really is sweet how he is turning to his meowmie. Give him purrs and scritches for us to continue feeling better. What a relief for you, too, Krista! Christine "LOL" wrote in message om... Mike is feeling better; he's not back to normal yet, but he's definitely better. Hi Krista,
I just heard from someone that sometimes the tapazole doses orally will cause some of the symptoms Mike is experiencing and that if you give the medication transdermally the side effects for stomach nausea can be lower.... it might be worth tracking down a compounding pharmacist in your area. There is one nearby to where I live that will ship to US if you cannot find one. I hope Mike keeps feeling better. Fuga |

Christine Well, I am relieved that he is feeling better, but this new lapcat business is so unusual for him that I am afraid to discourage him by making him get down. I have to move some time, Mike, sheesh! ;-) ------ Krista |
