Not very good news. Blood tests show kidney problems. At this point we don't know if it's acute or chronic. Kitty was nibbling on a bit of food yesterday and the fever is down but the vet wants to keep him hospitalized for 2 more days on IV fluids. After that she figures we'll know if it's acute or chronic. Is it possible that it's just an infection rather than a failure? Can anyone give an opinion on the likelihood of him pulling though? Fever points to infection. Body temperature can be low with kidney failure. Of course, kidney infections can result in kidney failure. |
