Ben finally got the old laptop to work and hooked up to the hospital's WIFI.
I have no idea how long I'll be in here this time - probably for a very long
time since they don't know what's causing this. They called in an
oncologist/hematologist to do dozens of blood tests to find out why I'm, all
of a sudden, creating clots in my bloodstream.

They could only do a small part of the ileoscopy yesterday - they got in
about 15 to 20 centimeters and saw blanched intestines where blood flow was
not getting to them (ischemic bowel, which means a blood clot) - they don't
know how far in that continues because they didn't want to chance poking a
whole in the damaged tissue. They did an x-ray and will do a vascular MRI
today (and they finally put in a PIC line (YAY, no more sticks in the hands
3 - 4 times a day for blood draws), but still don't know anything
conclusive.

The oncologist didn't sound very encouraging, so I'm preparing for the
worst. He said he has no idea what it could be or how to treat it so he's
just going to "shotgun" me with tests (again, thank the gawds for the PIC
line). my symptoms are just all over the place. I'm not diabetic, but my
blood sugar level shot down to 49 one time (it should range from 70 to 150
for someone without diabetes), and my blood pressure (which usually stays at
90 over 60) has shot up as well as my pulse rate (it's been 124 at its
lowest).

The surgeon doesn't want to operate because there's just not that much more
of my intestines left, but the alternative is the intestines that are
blanched going necrotic and perforating, causing peritonitis like what
happened before. I almost wish they'd just leave me alone and let nature
take its course rather than poking and prodding me to death! If they can't
fix it, at the very least they could not make it worse and just give me
enough pain meds to make the pain tolerable (which it isn't at the moment -
imagine that last labor cramp, ladies, but imagine it about 10 times worse
and never stopping for even a second... guys, I have not reference for you
unless it's a sledge hammer in the family jewels).

So anyway, at least I'll be able to keep in touch - thank you Ben - and I'll
try really hard not to whine except about not seeing my fur-babies again.
(Archer lost 2 pounds of weight from grieving the last time I was away for
44 days, and he really can't afford to lose any more. Ben says he is *VERY*
depressed and that's just breaking my heart to do that to him).

catch up, I'll probably just click "catch up" and start over fresh.

I'm glad you're back on line.

As far as I'm concerned, whine away. You have just cause and I'm sure you
need to be able to do just that.

Purrs and prayers for the doctors to find a way to sort this out.

Would the hospital allow Archer to visit? For your health of course.

At the SNIF unit I was in, they would have let the cats visit, but all of
mine would be totally terrorized by being in such a strange place, so I
never put them through that. Here in the "regular" hospital, pets aren't
allowed at all. And, again, I wouldn't do it if they were. I'm just hoping
to go home before it gets too bad for any of us!

for you. The moment we hung up, Daisy-chan stood up and started purring the
loudest I have *ever* heard a feral do. The dogs came in and started
yipping with tails wagging.

my butt was mobile enough to add one, I would but you will just have to
accept a happy grin from us 2foots.

Thank you for the update Ben. Bless you totally for helping getting the
laptop connecting as well as we were just able to call and send her a bit of
cheer. Don't worry, we kept the call short and over the years Lori knows
thick or thin, we are friends.

For you Ben, Daisy-chan is a rescued feral cat. She was probably completely
wild for 6 years. Wild cats learn to *not* purr loud. They 'thrum a
vibration' and we didn't catch it on the cell phone in time. As we ended
the call as Lori needed some medical tending, Daisy-chan stood up on the bed
and dang near vibrated a queen sized bed. Still, almost no sound but the
purrs were all over the scale of wishing to heal.
