Food Anomalies
I had always thought that cats didn't care for sugary items. We have about
150-200 hummingbirds that we feed every season. My wife was mixing the boiled sugar/water concentrate and Rambo started drinking the concentrate. He also likes popcorn, peanuts, cashews, wheat crackers, turkey bacon, home made biscuits, etc. He reminds me of Stasher, if I ate something so would he. |

Sneaker needs a bite of whatever I'm eating, but his talent shines with pastachios. He will take one, crack the shell and eat the nut. Karla |

Cats can be sugar hounds. that is why leaking radiator fluid is so dangerous to cats and dogs. It has a sweet taste and it attracts them |

I've had a couple of cats who liked potato chips, one who liked popcorn, several who'd eat a large enough portion of ice cream to set them shivering, and one whi, when sitting on my lap, will hoover up any stray cookie or cake crumbs I spill on my chest while snacking in front of the TV. As to sugar-water, I never tried any of them on that (but they'll certainly drink the standing water from any dish I leave in the sink, even though their own water dish is on the adjacent floor). One lesson I've throughly learned from living with several generations of cats - no matter what categorical statement one makes about "all" cats, there are always exceptions! |
