Hmm, if this goes twice, I'm sorry. Got a server error.

Have photos of the ferals that are around, I think the others are
camera shy .

Li'l Bit appears to be expecting, she's two or three weeks along. I'm
trying acclimate her to the house, since there is a preponderance of
toms, I worry about the babies.

The link is to Yahoo photos, in case you are worried about malware or
the like.

Wow. Not too feral if they will sit on laps. They sure are purty.

Should have seen them before they got "used" to me. They would run as
soon as I opened the door to put out food for them. Took a while, with
Pretty Face. She had belonged to someone, so she's more a "semi"
feral. Her people moved away and left her here (same people who
rescued Mr. Wiggles, but he won't tolerate any other humans, still
looking for his first people).

Li'l Bit showed up when she was about 6 months old (November), with a
sore paw (it was infected so bad that she couldn't even walk on it). I
caught her (with great difficulty) and cleaned it up for her. She
decided I was okay even if I had hurt her (by opening the "owie" to get
it clean).

The others are still afraid (and very wild), but they know I'll feed
them, and sometimes they get turkey or chicken from me. We are known
as the crazy hoomins who give them food and fresh water every day.

They are beautiful. Li'l Bit does look like she's ready to have a home.

Awww...you guys are great. For feral cats the Pretty Face and Lil Bit are
very cosy with the Paw. is there any chance of keeping Lil Bit indoors
until she is ready to pop?

This is "crazy"?????

I'd say "kudos" to you - you're doing good. You're very kind to
be caring for them. Good luck with Little Bit.

Well, here's the story about Li'l Bit and Pretty Face.

Pretty Face showed up last year, during winter. Because we had had a
couple of cats get under the house and die (starvation) two years ago,
I've been putting food out for the strays/ferals. Honestly, I had not
seen either of the two who passed before. So, all the cats in the
neighborhood (even the homed ones) know that they get Friskies or
Whiskas crunchy food.

Pretty Face was terrified of me and Paw when she first showed up. As
soon as she saw us, she'd run (along with all the others). Took 3 or 4
months, but she finally let me pet her one day. Now I go out, call
Pretty Face and she comes trotting across the street (very few cars)
mrowing as she runs. She is so sweet. If only she could get along
with the d*g, then she'd be inside.

One day, I heard someone outside, messing with the gate (and I could
hear Pretty growling really loud). There was this 14 year old boy
trying to get her attention. I asked who he was, and he said he owned
"Jamie" (she never did answer to Jamie, even when I tried it). He
tried to pick her up, and she literally tore him up, jumped down and
ran away.

I didn't see her for a couple of days (and I cried about it, silly me).
I kept putting food out for the others (Poor Boy, Snake, Stubs,
Ghost... Yeah I name all the cats I see regularly). Anyway, a
neighbor came by and we got to talking about Jamie/Pretty Face. She
told me that the boy's mom had kicked out Pretty's Hoomin and he
couldn't take her with him when he left. And that the 14 year old
basically tormented all the cats, and hit them (I never saw it, or
I'd've had to hurt him after I called the cops).

So, Pretty comes inside when it's a "really" cold night, otherwise she
doesn't want to be inside. As for Li'l Bit, she doesn't want to be
inside. As soon as I went to let the d*g out, she came over and looked
so pathetic. Short of holding her back every time, she will come in
when she chooses, and let's hope I can tell when she gets closer to
due, then I'll see about introducing her to the "nest" in the spare
closet (she wasn't interested last night).

or
very cheap? good luck with that, Jean.P.
