Oh Phil, they are so beautiful. I want one of the adults.

They're a litter of 5. The single kitten in the first picture and the
black
kitten and the tabby in the second picture are all part of the same
litter.
They're about 13-14 weeks in the picture. We received about 150 calls
about
the Siamese mixes on the first day.

Just as I suspected it would be. I think the compromise will be that we

will
have a kitten, but not a Siamese mix.

Do you *really* want a kitten?

There are a few in NC- one is a Snowshoe.

Phil, I love them all. I work at home most of the time, so it would probably
be a good arrangement. What I really want is siblings. If you find me a
Siamese-looking baby, I will take siblings. What I want most of all is to
save another cat or two, and the dood who is paying half the mortgage and
bills says he wants a Siamese-looking kitten, and he is still grieving for
his sweet Boo who died in March, so I that is what I will get.. We have ONE
cat, what a waste, right, when they are dying every day.

I noticed. But you know I would be happy with any cat at all. My husband
raised Boo from a tiny kitten, her mother had been killed, and he adored her
so he believes this is what it takes to have a loving cat. (He has seen my
adult rescues who, although loving, have their quirks, like running from us
anywhere in the house except in one room, where she loves to be lavished
with petting and brushinngs.) He really does not want three cats, but he
could never say no to a pair of baby siblings. To tell the truth, though I
have always adopted adults because everyone else wants kittens and leaves
the adults behind, my sister raised siblings and I love the way they cuddle
and play.

So the deal is, if you can find a Siamese baby, and I pass your screening
interview (you know I will be the primary caregiver, but we can make him
take it too) I will take two kittens, and I don't think they would have to
be siblings, would they, to play together? For this we would drive on up
there, if you had the time to arrange it. (If he can have his Siamese
looking baby, he will not bitch about three cats, see what I mean?)

And, we have three levels in this house, one for each cat to have his/her
own territory. AND we are about to have his Dad move in, who is a total
sucker for kittens, cats, all creatures, and he is retired. I think it is a
good set-up, and you know me from over the years. But yeah, if you are
willing to help us find the kittens, we will take any test/answer any
questions you want. And I am the one paying, so whatever you want.

P.S.--I am a 50-year-old woman with no children. Do it for all the adults
I annoy by trying to mother them.

Man, it just hit me. Taking a kitten (or two) on a ten-hour car ride is a
bit much, isn't it? You's probably better place them closer to home. I
should just go to the shelters and the pound regularly, but that rips my
heart out. Guess I should just buck up.

You think that's a bit much? You want some perspective? I've always wanted
to adopt one of the cats at the sanctuary at Torre Argentina in Rome. They
say some of the cats are descendents of Ceasar's cats. I already have the
perfect name for him: "Marcus Ailurelius" - a play on Marcus Aurelius.

I usually don't like to adopt cats too far away because if the adoption
doesn't work out the people might be reluctant to drive 200-300 miles to
return a cat they don't want. I've made exceptions- but they're rare.

I'm sure you'll find the kittens you're looking for close to your home.

Wow, that's neat. I love the story of Rum. I wonder if they meow with an
Italian accent?

Hiding from the shelters because all the great cats that deserve homes don't
get them is stupid, so I will work on that. I think the only way we will get
what my husband wants is for me to go often. The real challenge will be to
keep me from trying to bring them all home!
