Default red cat in tree ...

he's back down and inside now, all is well ..

cats were out on a walk with my parents (furries still vacationing up north,
due home next weekend). Just after Mum took Thea inside, d*gs came by - one
had escaped and was rounded up by his people with their other d*g so things
might not have been all controlled.
Poor Bono was freaked of course - he was unfortunately scared by a visiting
(friendly) dog some 5 years ago and is *very* wary of them ever since.
Anyway, he made straight for the front door but Dad didn't manage to open
it for him quick enough and Bono, in panic mode, got across to the
neighbours and up a tree. Dad, aware of the redirected aggression thing with
cats, left him for a while. But Bono stayed agitated and didn't settle down,
was growling and hissing even when dad tried to reach for him after quite
some time, and went up another, higher tree.
The first tree the red one climbed is a kind of decorative, bushy type tree
so there he was kind of hanging on his furry stomach and couldn't have been
hanging on like that too long I guess. Up the higher tree, a silvery type
fir tree he started to relax, and after a while was seen napping on and off
as he was lying comfortably on top of the highest branches ...
So things were settling down. But time was a factor here as parent's had to
be somewhere, and as godparents to the mother of the kid about to be
baptised they thought it was a good idea to make it there for the event.
A ladder was brought out and dad went up to try to get the red decoration
from the top of the tree (it's a bit too long until X-mas to leave him up
there). Of course a red blur whooshed down that tree and up another, cypress
type tree, where they couldn't get to him with the ladder.
Neighbour/relative/farmer/owner-of-scary-d*gs (1 person) came with a tractor
with a bucket thing that could lift dad up and he could finally grab the red
one and get him down.
Mum and Thea had managed to wrap the gifts and make the card while Bono was
tree climbing so with a bit of luck 20 minutes was enough for Dad to get
changed and to make it to the baptism ...

Great! I loved this. I suspect it will become one of the rpca classics.

Glad to hear he's back and OK. Frank sends Bono a high-five for annoying
hoomins so successfully.

Hahaha! Great story :-) Glad he's back inside now and your parents
made it to the baptism on time too.

oh my god, thank goodness nobody was hurt (Dad and/or
Bono). Give him extra hugs when you see him and your
Dad too.
