So just like with anything really, unless you know about it, I say,

dont;
talk about it!

Gee

A cat is not an it.

This was a general statement not applicable only to cats but to any subject
, object and/or creature in the world. And I was talking about the general
rule ( I said "just like with ANYTHING really"), so the word IT was the only
appropriatte choice when one is generalising. Again, I wasn;t talking only
about the cats.

I've never understood the term 'pet' in relation to cats, and dogs.
They're family members, friends. To me, a pet is something you flush
down the toilet when its time's up.

I understand the word since "pet" is also a verb & what you do to pets.

Cats are very beautiful and very affectionate. And statistically more
people in the US have cats than dogs. I have never understood the bad
rap the kitty gets among some animal advocates.

I can. As a lover of both cats AND the birds (and other wildlife) that they
kill, feral cats are a problem, as well as many cat owners.

But why is this posted to Rec.audio.pro etc.?
