Breakthrough for Abelard

Tonight, for the first time since his terrible illness of May '08, he
is sleeping in a cat bed WITH ANOTHER CAT. That lucky cat is
Guinivere, who he barely knows. He's been in the bed with her for
almost an hour now. His head is resting sweetly on her hip, and his
tail is between her front legs.

I have to admit that I *put* him into the bed, and gently prevented
him from leaving for the first few minutes. BUT when I first put him
into the bed, Guinivere wasn't the only other one in it; her brofur
Arthur was also there. Arthur, who also barely knows Abelard, had
wrapped himself around Abelard like they were best buddies.

In other news, tonight Abigail crawled into a heavy-duty plastic
shopping bag and made a bed out of it. When I picked up the bag and
carried it around, she seemed to love the sensation of riding around
in the air. She stretched, yawned, and laid on her back with paws in
the air, never trying to get out, even after I set the bag back on the
floor, at which point Billy got into the bag with her.

Abelard is still in the bed with Guinivere... It's been almost 4 hours
now. Meowmie is *very* happy with this development and will be
encouraging more socialization for the boy in coming days. He may yet
get fully back to being his normal/former self.

The miracles keep on a-comin' tonight.... Right after I took the
picture, he got up, drank some water, took a leak, then got right back
into the bed with Guinivere, curled up and went back to sleep, with no
encouragement from meowmie!

oh my god, I thought there was a 3rd cat under Abelard! So glad he
is finally getting back to normal.
