KFC again - improvement at last
"Christina Websell" wrote in message ... I have read all the posts in the thread I started yesterday and I thank each and every one for your suggestions and support. When I got home from work this afternoon Kitty was waiting for me. "Gimme some of that chicken NOW" I'd boiled the remains of it up in my pressure cooker yesterday just for her and picked every bit of the meat off into a basin. A messy job. The juice had set into a nice jelly. I gave her three tablespoons of the chicken meat and jelly. She ate it all and wanted a bit more. I was afraid to give her more in case it overloaded her stomach after not eating and set off diarrhoea, so I waited a few hours and offered her another tablespoonful which she gobbled up. There is no poo spread around in the house today, but on the other hand there is no poo in the litter box either. I wait with bated breath to see how it goes through. No-one but us on rpca would understand how important cat poo can sometimes be ;-) Tweed Dear Christina, this is great. Please remember how enthralled so many of us are with your feisty little old lady. We're upset at the prospect of losing her, too. Here at my place, we are purring for that one more pleasant summer (at least) for you. -- Theresa, Stinky and Dante drtmuirATearthlink.net Stinky Pictures: http://community.webshots.com/album/125591586JWEFwh |

I'm not sure how to take this, Pat. You are surely not suggesting that I am not giving her proper care, are you? Caring for this cat has taken over my life. Tweed |

I'm not sure how to take this, Pat. You are surely not suggesting that I am
not giving her proper care, are you? Caring for this cat has taken over my life. Tweed My reading of her message was that she, like all of us, hopes that KFC could conceivably have some time left yet. It didn't sound like a criticism, rather a hopeful observation that in some cases kitties have lived to be significantly older than KFC is now, so we're not out of our minds to hope that KFC might have a good bit of time left yet. It is admittedly very rare, but KFC has already shown herself to be an extraordinary ladycat. Dan |

Caring for this cat has taken over my life. Tweed FWIW, I didn't read Pat's comment that way - although I can understand why you can be a bit wary at the moment due to some of the crass comments from some on a.n.other thread about looking after KFC. I read Pat's comment as hoping KFC has a lot of good life in her yet, not as an adverse reflection on the care you give her. |

Of course not. You may be over-reacting. Any cat that's getting on in years needs proper care, like an elderly person. I meant that she might live a lot longer than you think is possible, given that she continues receiving proper care. |

Still, we will purr for her to poop in moderation and continue her feisty ways for a long time. -- Will in New Haven |

Please don't misunderstand this but as a more recent cat slave than most of
you, I just got the biggest hoot out of all of us "ADULTS" sitting around crossing everything we have for a proper cat POO. However, I join with the rest of you an am glad to hear she ate so much.
