Steve, any idea when Hills will be able to resume shipments of Science Diet with beef to Canada? -mhd Probably when the Canadian government allows us to do so. :-)) It is kind of ironic that Alberta had the first BSE cow in North America. Then the cow that was positive in Washington state was also determined to come from Canada. Yet the Canadian government banned beef from the US. I can't even begin to guess when the Canadian government will change the rules in effect. They banned chicken for a few weeks as well, then finally pulled back on that. We altered all diets going into Canada and substituted pork for the beef constituents in the diet for foods going into Canada. It was a massive expense and massive disruption in the manufacturing process but they got it done and pork based food was shipped up there about two weeks ago. Should be on the shelves by this coming week. |

It is a move to protect beef industries everywhere. As a pet owner I also am frustrated by the inconvenience. My guys like the adult beef, but do not like turkey or SD Original. Well one of them that is, the other will come back and finish anything :-) -mhd |
