Candace, I'm so sorry to hear of Cory's passing. He had a good, long life and was well loved. It is so hard to make the decision to help a loved one at the end of their life, but you gave him a gift and I know he will still be with you in spirit. Thank you so much for the kind words when my Claire had FIP and passed on. You, Tony, and Cory are in my thoughts and prayers. Debbie MacCandace wrote: We took my cat Cory in to be euthanized today. It was, as most of you understand, a very hard decision to make regarding the timing. But we think it was time. We took him outside before his appointment and, it was so sad, he just laid on his side with his head down in the grass as though he was just too tired to stay upright. As has been my experience in the past, the last 2 days leading up to this were awful...wondering if I should wait a little longer, going back and forth second-guessing our decision. Now that it is over, it's not nearly so bad. Of course, I miss him, it's horrible, 18 years of sleeping with someone as sweet as him will be hard to do without...but I do feel the time was right and I'm glad he is free of his deteriorating little body now. He went very quickly and very gently and didn't seem at all afraid. Here is the message I sent out about him to family and friends: Just a month short of his 18th birthday, Cory went to join his mom, Emily, and his adopted sister, Miles, as well as other kitties and humans who had the pleasure of knowing him. He left life as he lived it, sweetly and gently. We will always love him and never forget him and we know that soon the memories of all the cute and funny things he did for all those years will outweigh the sadness we feel at his loss. He had a long and happy life but it is never long enough for those left behind. We hope we will all be together again someday and, until then, we have another sweet kitty angel watching over us. Goodbye, sweet Cory. Candy and Tony, Cory's parents Candace (take the litter out before replying by e-mail) See my cats: http://photos.yahoo.com/maccandace "One does not meet oneself until one catches the reflection from an eye other than human."
