OT - Individual.Net
Hey, I guess referring all those AOL Usenet users to Individual.Net was not
a smart idea. I got an email saying starting April, they will start charging 10 Euros ($13 US) a year. Just an FYI. -- -Kelly kelly at farringtons dot net "Wake up, and smell the cat food" -TMBG |

Yep, saw this on another ng tonight. I haven't had a notice from them yet.
Wonder if they'll now carry the binaries? Cathy "KellyH" wrote in message ... Hey, I guess referring all those AOL Usenet users to Individual.Net was not a smart idea. I'll pay the $13, but it sounds like you have to sign up with a service something like Paypal to pay it. That I won't do. -- Cheryl |

Great for binaries too. My ISP (Adelphia) used to have an absolutely *horrendous* news server which was why I originally went w/ Individual.net (although called something else back then - dfn??). However, my ISP now uses Giganews, which is how I access the binaries, & it it much, much, much better than Adelphia's own old news servers. Will have to try the accessing the text ngs via Giganews & see if it's now comparable to Individsual.net - which is very rarely down, & posts instantaneously - *no* lag time invovled. Cathy |

Great for binaries too. Giganews is pretty good, I've been using it for years. The text retention is over a year and you can access more groups than just about any other NSP. Posts show up faster than my ISPs news server. I just wish I could access their news server on my laptops when connected my cell phone. Phil |

I would think you could, even if you have to use different settings. |
