Default Needed-declawed cat in LA for educ. video

I'm going to help shoot an anti-declaw cat video with some major anti-declaw
groups. They will use the video to help educate people about why they should
not declaw their cat. We will educate them about how to teach their cat to
scratch appropriately or other humane alternatives such as soft paws. They will
also be interviewing top cat veterinarians and behavioral specialists.

My declawed cat (I didn't declaw the cat) would still rub and destroy furniture
with his declawed paws. His paws were also too sensitive for regular litter so
he'd poop on the rug. If you have a declawed cat that has visible physical
problems, i.e. limp, claw that regrew, biting problems..., please let us
interview you and/or your cat for the video. It will help save cats. We will
shoot your segment in Los Angeles, California at my house near the Beverly
Center. Thanks.

Call the vets and ask them if they're scheduled to do any de-clawings
soon. See if you can get their permission to film the procedure. I
don't live in the area, so I can't help beyond that. (Plus, I don't
have a declawed cat- i'd never do that)

Call local rescue groups and ask if anyone knows of anyone who would
participate - I'm sure there are tons of people out there.

I strongly dissaprove of declawing cats. It's like a human without
his/her fingers, I suppose. Declawing a cat is cruel.

Be careful here that your don't end up making a video that will just get
dismissed.

I think that most people get their cats declawed because its just
what was done with indoor cats. Those people will respond
to a short video that states the simple fact that its cruel to
the cat and is risky. Those people will not respond to a graphic
video. It will take time to get peoples attitudes to change but
if you try to force the issue too quickly, you will end up making
it worse.

If your video is too graphic or shows cat in pain, the video will
be dismissed as a peta like stunt. A G rated video will get
watched by more people and will get the message to a larger group
of current and future cat owners.

My kitten hasn't torn up any furnature that wasn't already in bad shape
but there were a few weeks of very stern "No" and a slight chase and
putting her at the scratching post. She does her best to shread
the scratching post.
