I pulled a groin muscle at work and last night I was laying on the couch
with ice on it. Abby came to sit by me. Then she climbed into the back of
the couch and was laying facing me. She kept rubbing her face against my
face and neck.

I went to the doctor's today and they have me on light duty at work for a
week. Everything they said I couldn't do is part of my job. No standing for
long periods of time, no lifting over 10 lbs, no bending, stooping.

I work part time at Home Depot and they said they have light duty for me.
I'm wondering what they will have me doing.

I was going to ask what kind of work you did! I pulled a groin muscle
once, and I know how painful that is. Hope it heals fast. Mine actually
took several months to heal completely, but the worst of the pain was
over in a couple of days. After that, I could function OK, but I had
to be careful.

I got mine from salsa dancing. I felt like the very stereotype of the
middle-aged, square office worker, going salsa dancing and getting an
injury. It was a dance class, actually, and once we'd been taught a
couple of moves, the teacher played a few songs and had us dance for
practice. I really got into it, and started showing off, swinging my
hips and throwing my weight all over the place. All of a sudden I got
an excruciating pain on the right side of my groin, and the next thing
I knew, I was parked in the women's bathroom with some ice (from the
soda chest) wrapped in a towel and pressed up against my pelvis.

That wasn't the last time I ever went salsa dancing (gotta get back
on the horse, LOL), but I was pretty careful after that!

Hope you heal quickly! You've got a nice kitty nurse there.
