Cats and boosters
My 7 year old indoor cat has never had a booster and I want to take her for
her first check up in two years. I'm a little reluctant to start with the boosters, but I'm also worried that just taking her to the vet can expose her to germs and bacteria she has no resistance for. Any suggestions or feelings about boosters? She has bad teeth (lost all her little ones at a young age) but is very dainty and tame. |

Find a gental vet who understands cats -- I am able to give my cats their shots except rabies ( I am an RMA so I do know how to do the shots) but I let the vet give them because she doesn't charge more for them than what I can get them for and she does an exam (she does charge for the exam) to make sure the cats are healthy. I would call around and interview vets first so that you hopefully find one that you trust to take care of the cat. Ask about the policies of the clinic and fees- what shots they recommend and tests. Do they have emergancy care? Do they have someone who specializes in cats? I do not give the one shot - because my cats are indoor only and the veet says there is no reason to give it. I think its the flev? Someone will correct me please if they know if I am wrong. But cats get this by drinking after each other. Karryl http://www.i-love-cats.com/meow/soft63389/index.htm |
