*sigh* I hate doing this. It feels selfish. Unfortunately, my phantom
pain is not a cyst and remains a mystery. THAT makes me really nervous.
So far it's not getting better. I don't know yet where we go from here,
but since it remains a mystery that makes me much more worried about it.
I don't care for mysterious pain; seems more like all those stories you
hear. So any spare purrs would be welcome.

Yes, "mysterious pain" can cause the most concerns. The unknown is
always more worrisome. What is your next step? What does your doctor
advise? Certainly, I think you should see a specialist at this time --
but I also recognize that the next big question is, "what *kind* of
specialist?"

Now, that said, please try to remain calm (much easier said than done).
Many of these mystery pains turn out to be something very minor that are
cured simply by time -- and by relaxation, if that is at all possible.
In other words, take care of yourself and don't undertake any more
stressful activities than is absolutely necessary.

Well, I am seeing a specialist. I'm to call Monday. Let's just hope it
goes away by then. I have been getting massages because I am all screwed
up in the back and neck (tension). But have a lot of work to do on that
yet. Here's hoping.

I found massages to be very helpful for muscles aches and pain.
But you have to keep at it. Hope the specialist can help you pinpoint
the cause of your problem and give you proper treatment.

Ugh! Your worry is understandable, and you're very much
entitled to ask for purrs. We'd be unhappy if you didn't.
Purrs that you find out what causes it and can make it go away,
or failing that, that it just goes away.

Of course, Karen, take as many as you need. Caliban sends one of his
little kisses too (he's a very kissy boy; last night I had my sister and
our mother over for dinner, and he welcomed them both with lots of
kisses, the litle charmer). I hope it turns out to be nothing at all,
and the pain goes away by itself. The worst part is not knowing. BTDT.

Purrs that they figure out what is going on and that it's very
fixable.

Purrs that you find out what it is and that it's easily treatable.
