"SUQKRT" wrote Spicey has a box too with papers in it. She benefits from my online ordering. Yes, online ordering = box heaven for cats. -- Marina |

"JHBennett" wrote I have long suspected the female of the species to be the more sinister and diabolical. My sympathy to the honest and forthright Frank, in the hope that virtue will be rewarded ;-) Update on the box situation: Frank gathered his courage and went up to the box with the Mad Bapper in it, bowed down and started to lick her forehead. I though, "oh, he's trying to *lick* the monster to death". But no, it was just a ruse. Suddenly he reared up on his hind legs, pounced into the box with his front paws and tried to prize Nikki out with a pretty nifty grip, I thought. But Nikki just flattened herself down and stayed glued to the bottom of the box. So it's Nikki 2, Frank nil. -- Marina, Frank and Nikki marina (dot) kurten (at) pp (dot) inet (dot) fi |

Nikki hates the carrier, but she loves all boxes, bags and other snuggly places. So does Roxy. She doesn't scrunch down in them, though, or curl up. She just sits there, staring into space, like she's just achieved something monumental by getting into the box. Sometimes she looks up at me expectantly when she jumps into a box, and I know that means she wants me to swing her around in it. Roxy loves to go for "rides" - in boxes, the laundry basket, and spinning around on my office chair. But when I take her to the vet, she howls whenever the car moves, especially when I go on the freeway. If I stop at a red light, she gets quiet, and when I start moving again, she starts crying again. This is the cat who hunkers down excitedly and digs her claws in when I spin my chair around??
