i've finally gone for medical advice. i have not only fractured my shoulder
but i have dislocated it too.
the x-ray is spectacular. my shoulder bone is under my arm instead of being
in the right place and the fracture is a piece of loose bone chipped off and
floating around.
because of leaving it so long they were not confident they could do it so i
have to wait until next week, mon or tues until a shoulder specialist is
available to knock me out
and try to put it back externally. if he can't it will have to done
surgically but i will have to get the loose bone wired in anyway.
they wanted to keep me in hospital immediately but i saw no point in that -
waiting until next week until a shoulder surgeon can see me so i chose to go
home.
please purr and pray that the surgeon can relocate my dislocated shoulder
without surgical intervention.
i've had an earbashing from every doctor/nurse i've seen today for not
coming in before so i do not need that. I truly thought I had a bad sprain
that would resolve, but even myself who hates seeing doctors knew it was
time to seek help now.
i've been told i should have dialled 999 for an ambulance at the time, but i
did not think my injury was that important to do that.
I wish i had, now.

I'm not surprised but you do have my deepest sympathy (not that it will
help). I had a badly injured arm when I was 15 and my mother did not
have me see a doctor. It was a year before I could stand to really use
it. Give it plenty of time to heal. Best wishes . MLB

I'm glad you finally did the right thing, though I can understand why
you didn't before. Lots of purrs for a successful treatment and hoping
you'll soon be pain free.

they assure me that once my shoulder is back in place it will be easier with
pain, but it depends if they can do it after two and and a half weeks of me
pretending i can do it myself.
it was boyfriend that caused it, i fell over him winding around my feet for
his continual appetite problem.
this is the second time time i have fallen over him last time i broke my
ribs.
my doctor says if you fall over your cat twice and break bones it's time to
get rid of it.
i think not.

Obviously the doctor is not a cat person.

I am so sorry for your injury and pain. Hope your shoulder can be
relocated without surgery.
Is boyfriend showing any signof remorse for tripping you?
Thinking back, Rusty (RB) probably tripped me only once, when I first
adopted
him. I banged my knee on the floor and got a big bruise. Is boyfriend
showing any sign
or remorse for tripping you?

I don't tolerate pain well and usually rush to see the doctor.
I was glad I did the time I had shingle as the medication had to be
taken within 72 hours.

Anyone who would say something like that does not understand how much we
love our cats (or d*gs, horses, chickens, etc.). That would be like giving
up a child, and none of us would do that.

I can never understand people who say, get rid of an animal, like it's
an object with no value. If someone was advised to get rid of one of
their children there would be an outcry and I've known children in the
past that should have been got rid of. ;-)

These people have no feelings. When my 18 year old dog Sampson had to be
put down I took a week off from work. I'd already been scheduled for
vacation, I just moved it up a week. I was in mourning. I got cards and
flowers from lots of people. But one woman I thought was my friend said,
"What's all the fuss about? It was just a dog." Some people just don't get
it.

A medical professional should never say something like that to a patient.
It's unusually cruel. It wasn't Boyfie's fault. It wasn't Christine's
fault. It was an accident.

Wondering! Did you have to have surgery on your shoulder (ouch!)?
How is Boyfriend holding up? He doesn't have an appetite "problem" IMHO
he does what cats (and other) animals do: spend their time hunting food
and sleeping. The getting underfoot thing can be a real problem that
is why I go around saying "move, move, move". Unincorporated SLC has
now started a cat licensing law. I wonder how this will work out? If
you are "elderly" you can get a "lifetime" rate of one time for $5.00.
Being in that category and TuTu turned 14, I wonder how long that will
be? LOL. Best wishes for your shoulder and your starving kitty cat. MLB
