All 4 of my cats like to accompany me to the bathroom.
They aren't usually all there at the same time, but
sometimes it can be pretty crowded in such a small
place. At night before bedtime, Anna likes to sit on
my lap while I'm sitting on the potty. I have to
be sure and cover my "lap" so my poor legs don't get
scratched up. I'm really planning to be there only
a short while, but end up staying until Anna has
gotten her fill of cuddles or she gets upset with
me. It is now part of the getting ready for bed
ritual.

Just tossing this out for observation and comment.

I have 2 cats in my household, a 4 year old spayed female and a 9 month old
female due for neutering soon. Both are quite contented, well adjusted to
each other and the household in general. Both have a normal interest in
dominating the attention of their favorite personalities within the home
which consists of myself, my wife, and an 8 year old son.

The 4 year old cat has developed a habit of following me into the bathroom
and snuggling herself down into the sink which is immediately next to the
commode where I am seated. Regardless of what she may have been doing prior
to me heading to the bathroom, she jumps up into the sink basin, circles a
few times and nestles down, form fitting herself to the contour of the sink
as snugly as possible. She purrs quite strongly while doing this and
responds to petting and verbal interaction normally.

At no other time does she show the slightest interest in roosting in the
sink. I've heard of other cats who have a preference for sink nesting for
whatever reason it appeals to them but this *only* occurs when I am in there
using the facility. Recently the younger cat has begun following the 4 year
old on these ventures. Not to be outdone, she will hop up on the vanity,
circle past the older cat, walk across the toilet tank and climb up on my
shoulders to roost. Where did my privacy rights go?

It's not like either of them are lacking for attention throughout the rest
of the day but why such a heightened interest in me at this rather personal
moment? If I shut the door before they arrive, there will be paws under the
bottom of it trying to open it. Comments?

My 3 cats take turn following us 3 humans to the potty - one at a time
and they come in and out of the room checking the closet and the tub -
wanting petted.

Only one is brave enough to come in during bath time - Miss Thang
follows my daughter to her bath and sits on the toilet seat watching -
sometimes she puts her front feet on the tub for a closer look. She
hasn't fallen in yet but I wonder if that happens if that will end her
visits.
