Default Tigger

Tigger is living the life of Riley right now. Anything she wants, she
gets. Treats at 2AM, no problem. Unfortunately Tigger does not have
any special food she likes other than her cat food. Fresh baked
salmon, tuna, shrimp all get left on the floor, much to the delight of
Tank. She won't eat the special food the vet suggested. I mix it
with her regular food to fool her and she eats right around it. I
don't dare just put the special food out because I'm afraid she then
won't eat anything. She must be feeling better because Tank has gone
back to his teenager behavior of "let's be friends, wanna wrestle"
which Tigger will have nothing to do with. To ease stress on her we
separate them when we're going to be gone for the day. She seems much
frailer now than she did before and I have found a lump on her back so
I think this is merely a reprieve for a short time. On the other hand
she seems to be feeling better day by day. She is eating and drinking
well and jumps up on the bed to tell us goodnight. She used to sleep
in the top of her tower before she got sick but usually now sleeps on
the bottom. DH and I talked last night that we are not going to take
any extraordinary efforts if they won't buy her much time. I promised
her when I gave her last dose of medicine that I wouldn't do that
anymore. She hates it so. Not to mention that she has learned every
trick I have to open her mouth and stick a syringe in. I'm afraid
that with all the gyrations she takes to get away from that syringe
that I'm going to accidentally hurt her. If it happens a year from
now I might reconsider but if this is the beginning of the end I just
don't have it in my heart to force feed her.

I have a heavy show schedule coming up and I am terrified that she
will take a downturn while I am out of town. DH's mother is coming to
visit in April and I was horrified to check my schedule and find that
3 weekends out of 4 I am not only doing a show but doing a show out of
town. I've gotten into some of my best shows this year and I can't
even celebrate.... I pray we get another summer with her because that
is my down time. Actually I pray that this is temporary, that the
vets are wrong, and she gets several more years but mostly I pray that
I will be able to be with her when it is time to say goodbye.

Difficult but loving decisions you have made for Tigger. We wish her comfort
and health for a long time. I also have a Tigger, 10 month old male kitten,
12 pound mini-monster. He is a snuggeler and nipper, licker; not always
appreciated.

I hope to see you and your wonderful show Saturday or Sunday. Am coming
with a friend whose scheduled is more difficult to manage than mine so am
not sure yet when we will be there. Looking forward to meeting you.
