Couple of things on Pointsettias to keep in mind.

Onyx is right on target - they are toxic to people, pets and things
warm-blooded in general. So, caution and common sense is due.

But, as far as cats are concerned *IF* the cat has a good diet that
includes sufficient roughage in a form they enjoy, *IF* the cat is not
bored nearly to tears, it won't go near _any_ toxic plant on a bet.
They know instinctively much better than that. Exceptions are plants
that are made toxic due to human intervention - pesticides and such.
Those sorts of products should not be used anywhere near cats or
anywhere indoors anyway.

So, make sure your cat has other sources of roughage ("kitty greens",
plant some pop-corn (they love the sweet stalks), fresh catnip plants
(they will actually self-limit) and such) and that it is not bored.
Your plants will safe from chewing - possibly used as jungle-gyms, but
not for browsing.

something to cause their stupidity.
