unexpected consequences

Rearranging my office a bit, I moved the roughly 3' high Cat Condo from
next to the main computer on the computer table, to the desk. The desk
is a few inches higher than the table. The Condo now sits on the outside
edge of the desk, next to the walkway.

Since this is higher and better padded than the fax machine, Rhonda has
abandoned her somewhat annoying spot in the out tray, and moved to the
top of the condo. So far, so good.

What I had not realized is that this puts her at human face level,
especially when she sits. It is a new experience to turn and look a cat
in the eye, while standing.

She isn't hesitant to reach out and tap for scritches, and, if I move
too fast, pull me back. On the other hand, scritches delivered while in
eye contact seem invariably to get mustache grooming and nose kisses.

The other two haven't yet found the relocated Condo. Mr. Clark is too
big to fit inside, so Rhonda might have competition for the top spot.
I'm not sure if Ding, who has filled out with muscle, will or will not
fit inside.

Sounds delightful but also much harder to get work done!
