Default Hi all. New cat coming

I have 2 Himalayans and this week, I was browsing some pet board and
someone was giving away a Himmie. I emailed them and found out it is
the boyfriend giving away girlfriend's cat. She was finding a home for
this cat for a friend since she already had too many cats. Her
boyfriend doesn't like cats at all and didn't want this Himmie around
because of all the hair. After many emails, I told him I really
couldn't take the cat but to find it a good home and ask a fee. Don't
give away for free.

Today he emails me that do I want the cat? Again, I said no. I didn't
have room for another. He says "well, she goes to the pound this
afternoon."

I emailed back and said "No! I'll take her." At least I could save
her from the pound.

She is coming this weekend. A female, 4 yr. old chocolate point
Himmie, declawed and disease free. No issues like biting or litter box
problems.

I really don't know what I am going to do. I only have 1 bedroom and
no spare room to keep her in. My 2 boys are 10 and have lived together
all their lives. I've had them since they were 8 weeks old.

Darn, I was hoping you lived closer to me. DH loves Himmies so much I might
have had a chance of talking him into another addition to our clowder.

Where are you? Maybe we could start a car ride with fellow cat lovers
across the states to your house.

Well, let me check with United Airlines. I have many frequent flyer miles
and if they haven't gone bankrupt yet, maybe I could work something out. I
will call.

Are you sure about this?

I was told she gets along with other cats, has been around a chihuahua and
loved that dog. She is shy at first, but after a week of solitude comes out
to play and be with people and pets.

I just don't have the room and my 2 boys are very demanding and I clean up
hair everyday. I have to brush them everynight. Also, in my condo rules,
it states that a condo owner cannot have more than 2 pets. I have very nosy
neighbors and would constantly be scared of keeping a 3rd pet and having to
give it away later because of these rules. Two of my neighbors have keys to
my place in case of an emergency and I just don't know.

You are so kind to agree to take her. Something will work out and you will
find a home for her. I'm a firm believer in good deeds will be rewarded.
On the other hand.. your boys might like a new friend? Your landlord would
never know unless he is regularly on pet patrol searching your house.
