Very scary incident
I'm still shaking about this.
My 5 month old foster kitten Ana, the one who has PSS and had seizures, nearly died today. I'm here on the computer and I hear all this banging around coming from the basement. Not really concerned, as I have 7 cats in the house right now and there's always some type of commotion. I finally get up to see what is going on, and as I enter the basement, I see Ana in the litterbox flailing around. I think she is having a seizure, so I rush to her. Turns out, somehow she managed to get a power cord, I think it's one from a cell phone, wrapped around her neck and she's hanging from the stair railing. I'm trying to free her, but it's knotted. I run back upstairs to get scissors. I was so afraid she was going to die in that moment. Luckily, I got back in time and cut her free. I have no idea how she managed this. The plug part of the power cord was under the litterbox. Ana is fine. I held her for a while, and then she wanted to get down and eat. -- -Kelly kelly at farringtons dot net www.kelltek.com Check out www.snittens.com |

I am going to check where all my cords and things are right now. I'm glad Ana is okay. |

she managed this. The plug part of the power cord was under the litterbox. Wow, that's really a freak accident. How scary, I guess we can never think of every possible scenario. Poor baby, I'm glad she's okay and hungry. OMG, I can see why you're shaking! What a horrible fright.
Sometimes I think kittens have a death wish. Thank god they have nine lives. Rhonda KellyH wrote: I'm still shaking about this. ... How has ANA come around? No bad effects from her accident? MAGI had a seizure for the first time in months. heat and humidity seems to set her off. When the weather here cooled her symptoms abated. Just recently we switched on the heating in the house (a bit too high, I think) and a few hours later she had a seizure. Don't really know if they are related but we kep the heating relatively low now. Her seizure occured on top of a set of shelves which if she had not been caught she would have fell to the floor. Even as an indoor cat she is not entirely safe! :-( Iain Poor Magi! I hope she's feeling better. Ana has been doing well. She just ran by, chasing another foster kitten I have right now. I was just going to post about her. Guess what? Ana is available for adoption! I talked with the president of our rescue league, and she said Ana deserves a chance for a forever home. I haven't put Ana on the website yet, but I let all the adoption counselors know about her, and to keep their eyes open for an excellent home. Of course I will be sad to see her go, but happy at the same time. The new parents will have to provide frequent updates! -- -Kelly kelly at farringtons dot net www.kelltek.com Check out www.snittens.com |
