Love Bites!
I have come to the conclusion that cats will byte out of affection.
I was laying down, and rubbing Ruprechts neck, and outlining his shoulders with my fingertips, you know...he was drueling...lol... While I was continuing the same general non-chalant affection, around hisneck and shoulders... he bit me real hard and wouldnt turn loose. I said...woah..he looked at me with my hand in his mouth. He finally let up...but I believe with all my heart, this was his way of affecting me, in his own way. A woman told the same story, she said, her cat would bite her but only after she stirred him up through affection...(that cat bit the face, so, he needed some training)...however, this is not a sign of agression from the cat. My hand was bleeding...I smeared the blood across my palm, and offered it to Ruprecht, he came over and smelled the blood..I said...quietly...Ow, ow, I didnt' want to send the message "no", I felt like this would tell him do not show your affection, rather, don't bite me so hard I bleed please. |

Our cat, Tribbles, would bite us very gently on the nose if we didn't get up when she thought we should. It was so cute! |

My Pickles will give a little bite while kissing your hand and then go right
back to kissing. It's definitely love and she never breaks the skin while doing it. She will also sometimes reach up and very gently touch my face with her paw. It's really very touching. -- Barb Of course I don't look busy, I did it right the first time. |

I have never had a cat drool when I pet, I guess I am not droolworthy! This is the way to do it. Many people here with lots of experience recommend the "Ow!" way of letting them know that we don't like hard biting. You had better clean that bite well or you could wind up in the hospital. Hot, hot water, and squeeze as much blood out as you can, then a good antiseptic--peroxide has its uses for bites like this, then maybe alcohol. Cats mouths are very dirty. |

Just the tiniest nibbles with her teeny front teeth. |

Yeah, my bite turned red around the holes, with a tad of swelling, so I feathered the skin back from around the puncture, making it bigger, but now all open, and put some alcohol on it. Last bite was sore for days, and it was very tiny. |

pet, I guess I am not droolworthy! lol, he wasn't really drooling, but ogling, now I know your cats ogle over you, rubber snakes praise and all.. funny thing, since I let him get by with that last night, I think we made a connection. Maybe cats do this to each other as a way of leaving an impression on the other. |
