We could use some medical purrs
OMG, your poor mom. That is way too much for one person to have to deal
with. Many purrs coming up! -- Britta Purring is an automatic safety valve device for dealing with happiness overflow. After dealing with a breast cancer operation, chemo, another breast cancer operation, an attack by a vicious dog, hospitalization for an infected chemo implant, finding that the cancer had migrated to her spine, and still more chemo, she has started to have really bad back aches again. Her doctor is trying to get her in for an MRI in the next day or so. We could definitely use some purrs that the cancer on her spine isn't getting worse. There's a chance she'll need to go in for surgery, so purrs for that to go well would also be much appreciated. Dan |

I'm so sorry, Dan. Someone who's already been through breast cancer treatments shouldn't have to deal with this, as well. Purrs for strength for her! Melissa |

I know this won't help your mom, but I just want to inform people that as of yesterday, because of my pestering, a new fund has been started to help people in my age bracket (I'm 38), who are married, no job - being supported by their spouse, no insurance, no dependents with a household annual income of between $7,000 - $21,000, with a suspicious diagnosis. Prior to my pestering to get this federally funded, a person had to get a diagnosis specifically of *cancer* before anything was covered, which meant the person had to find a clinic, get a mammogram or ultrasound, pay for the biopsy and then get the tumor cut out BEFORE any federal funding could take place. We're talking thousands of dollars. As of yesterday, there's funding available to help pay for the initial stages, because I knocked on enough doors. Again, this doesn't help your mom, but maybe it will help someone else on this group. It's funded through the American Breast Cancer Society or Organization or whatever they call themselves. As of yesterday, the government will pay $200 towards my ultrasound, $125 towards my surgeon's consult fee and $875 towards my biopsy. I was just going to have to let my tumor grow because my husband and I just couldn't afford the fees. Now it's almost conceivable with a loan from my family and the help from the fund I got started. Dan, I wish the best for your mom. Let her know that we're still making strides. My whole household is sending purrs your way. kili |
