Purrs for a Forever Home
We had a stray turn up about 10 days ago; a very affectionate little
girl tabby about 9 months old. She has been living in the garage since it's been relatively warm and I was just not up to tolerating all the nonsense that Bootsie would dish out to the interloper. I'm not keeping her. Even after losing Yoda, I still have four (aging) cats, and I am sure that's all I can both care for properly and afford. As the others age, I'm sure we're in for higher vet bills and financially I don't want to take on more than I can provide vet care and attention. I have no idea where she came from. She is too affectinate and wants to run in the house. She's been let inside before, from the way she acts. She was in pretty good shape physically, pretty thin, but that's not unusual for a teenager cat. I say somebody dumped her out here. Anyway. I went ahead and got her spayed and vaccinated. Then today Boots was outside so I thought I'd let her in the house and see what kind of house-cat manners she has. They're very good, actually. She does not have a name. I'm not going to give her one, either. I'm not keeping her, remember. I actually thought I had a prospective home for her, but they did not show up as expected today. I hope it was mis-communication and they haven't changed their minds. I'd appreciate a little boost in the way of good vibes for a good home. It sure can't hurt. Sherry |

Is it possible she wasn't dumped, but somehow ended up out your way because she accidentally stowed away in someone's pickup truck (for example)? I say this because I just watched a show last night about a cat who did just that, and was gone for 8 years. Then her original people found her again totally by accident. So possibly there might be someone out there looking for their lost cat? Would it make sense to put up signs or something in the paper, or to call vets and ask if anyone's looking for their cat? In any case, I hope you find her a good home soon, whether it's a new home, or her original home. Joyce -- "Sentimentality" -- that's what we call the sentiment we don't share. -- Graham Greene |
