OT I just didn't know
Went to the pet store for some cat food. While I was waiting to pay, I
spotted a package hanging on the wall, Peered a little closer. It said "Adjustable harness and lead for iguana". A pretty bright red harness, wrapped around the picture of an iguana. I didn't know they made them. Special for iguanas and all. And it wasn't just one iguana harness, there were lots of them. They were obviously expecting it to be a hit product. In Finland. shakes head -- Marina, Frank and Nikki Email marina (dot) kurten (at) pp (dot) inet (dot) fi Pics at http://uk.f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/frankiennikki |

We had an iguana years ago when we lived in an apartment that didn't allow furred animals. They allowed fish and birds. We argued our way into an iguana. I suspect the apartment managers didn't think the iguana would live long. We named him Griggs and he grew to be about 4' long tip to tip. He had a very strong tail and if he didn't want to do something he let you know. We had to take him to the vet once and the only vet we could find was about 20 miles away. We put him in the car and he immediately ran to the back window and sat on the back of the seat basking in the sun. Priceless is the only way to describe the look on the faces of some of the people in traffic who apparently thought Griggs was a toy or stuffed until he would slowly move his head. Julie |

I know people have them as pets, even here, but I think that pet shop was a bit over-optimistic to stock such a lot of iguana harnesses. And I still can't believe they make harnesses especially for iguanas. ;o) -- Marina, Frank and Nikki Email marina (dot) kurten (at) pp (dot) inet (dot) fi Pics at http://uk.f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/frankiennikki |

was a bit over-optimistic to stock such a lot of iguana harnesses. And I still can't believe they make harnesses especially for iguanas. ;o) -- Marina, Frank and Nikki Yes, they do have them here, too. (iguanas, not harnesses!) We get them relinquished at the shelter once in a while. It makes me hate stupid people who get a "trendy" pet, not really knowing anything about the pet, then figure out they really don't want it, then "present" it to us like they're making some kind of donation. They always say "I paid XXX dollars for him/her." Not just iguanas, but other things too like pygmy goats, pot-bellied pigs, ferrets, pythons, things like that. We had the pgymy goat so long I think she started thinking she was a dog. Sherry |
