Default Pink-nosed kitties in the sun

We have a mostly white cat with pink ears and a pink nose. We also have
completely enclosed a cat balcony we've constructed out of hardware
cloth and plywood for our cats to lay outside in the sun.

Question: do any of you put suntan lotion on your cats' ears? This
didn't even occur to me until I saw a cat last week on vacation with
skin cancer. His ears had been removed and nose was swollen, poor baby.
He was an Italian cat, by the way -- he looked pretty hardy.

Bear's (our cat) ears are misshapen from untreated ear mites before he
was ours. I'm still concerned about skin cancer, although he's not out
constantly. Is skin cancer common on pink-skinned cats?

You have love and tenderness issues. See a psychiatrist.

Iben shows up every year about the time when school gets out.
He's not a kid, he just spends a lot of time hanging around
playgrounds.

Okay, let's try to get serious. My own cats love to lie in the sun but if
they are on the deck and it gets too hot for them they will go in the shade
or into the house.

There's a guy who posts very rarely on rpca who had a white cat ...
her ears had to be amputated due to excessive sun exposure (which
she'd received before he found her).

So, it may sound silly to worry about cats and skin cancer, but I
don't think it is. Perhaps you should ask your vet. It may very much
depend on the climate; I'd imagine an arid, high-altitude region would
be more likely to cause these sorts of problems.

And YOU have putting-things-in-their-proper-perspective issues. You've
made yourself emotionally ill by your constant obsession with it, in
fact.
FYI, Catz are not human beings. They are simple animals. And that's all
the consideration they deserve. They, like all other animals on this
planet, are placed here for OUR USE. Not the other way away around.
Only you moronically mentally ill liberalz like YOU think otherwise.
You have made yourself mentally ill by constantly stooping and
belittling yourself on issues such as tolerance, diversity, sensitivity
and feeeeeeelingz. I would tell you to see a shrink yourself, but most
of them are ex-60s acid heads who think and act just like you!
Go ahead and make yourself sick by constantly lying to yourself so you
can 'feeeeeling good', but don't expect everyone else who still sees
life normally to follow you down.

Why don't you stick to the political groups where it's normal to be a
pinhead with nothing to say? You are like a smallpox pustule, popping
