yodeled: Guys, those purrs are so powerful. Thank you. I just got a phone message. Christine set the trap baited with smoked salmon last night. Whoa! That would do it for me! This morning the salmon was gone and the trap was empty. She set it on a more sensitive setting this morning and baited it with salmon again. Left the trap and came back to check about 45 minutes later and found mama cat in the trap. She's a gorgeous black shorthair, Christine says. Anyway, she's at the vet's. I suppose that since she has eaten something, that might complicate things. Could she please have some more purrs that she will come through the surgery without any problems? (Prayers are welcome also.) I'll post more details as they are available. Annie, happy dancing. So glad you got the mama cat and that the babies are all doing fine! And that's great the vet will spay mama cat for free :-) Congratulations! Ginger-lyn The free spay is just the icing on the cake for sure. Christine has adopted abandoned pets who were sick and nursed them back to health. Fortunately, this cat and babies were healthy, but this is the first multiple rescue she's has had dumped in her lap and had to coordinate herself. It has gone amazingly well. Ideally, she would have been able to take in the mother cat and the kittens and kept them long enough to get the mother and kittens spay/neutered, but the circumstances did not lead that way. Yet, she's accomplished in a week what often takes months. I'm just so proud of her. Annie |

We're purring for her spay, and hoping that she'll eventually become reunited with her babies. BTW, smoked salmon would probably have trapped me, too. NO DOUBT! I adore smoked salmon! Purrrrrrrr.... crawling into trap. Go ahead, spay me, just give me more of the salmon please! Happy to hear mama is at the vet. Great news! Jill |
