That does seem really stupid. Isn't Oklahoma the state where they still allow cockfighting? Seems they have their priorities mixed up. Actually, cockfighting has been against the law for awhile, but raising and fighting birds was legal. So, what do they think the people raising the birds planned to do with them, if not fight them to the death? Anyway, voters banned raising them in a recent election. Unbelievably to me, the cockfighters have a powerful lobby who are still fighting to get the ban overturned. But, for now at least, it's against the law to raise the birds as well as fight them. -- Steve Touchstone, faithful servant of Sammy, Little Bit and Rocky [remove Junk for email] Home Page: http://www.sirinet.net/~stouchst/index.html Cat Pix: http://www.sirinet.net/~stouchst/animals.html |

This is exactly what happened to my late cat, Mimi, whom I didn't know was spayed when I got her. The vet went hunting around her innards for a uterus, without finding any. That's standard practice for vets here in the land of Oz too, except the spay tattoo goes on the inside of the cat's ear. Very easy to find. Helen Wheels |

Helen Wheels guess that's makes more sense than on the belly, like my TED did. I KNOW where the tattoo is, and would probably have to shave their belly to find it. Kreisleriana had some very interesting
things to say about I think Bruiser joined a gang: This is exactly what happened to my late cat, Mimi, whom I didn't know was spayed when I got her. The vet went hunting around her innards for a uterus, without finding any. Poor baby came home shaved and stitched and v.v. PO'd. Could have been worse. Friend of mine adopted a shelter cat, who was duly dispatched to TED for a spay. Turned out *he* didn't need it, which was discovered *after* the incision was made. I still tease Newman by calling him a mutant. :-) -- "Don't mess with major appliances unless you know what you are doing (or unless your life insurance policy is up-to-date)." - John, RCFL |
