Movie cat
One of my favorite books ever is Peter Carey's "Oscar and Lucinda" (the Aussies will certainly recognize the title ). And when I love a book, I'm usually terrified when it's made into a movie, because I usually *hate* the movie. So it's taken me this long to see the movie (1998, I think), despite the always interesting presence of Ralph Fiennes (excuse me while I replace my tongue in my mouth ). Well, not only was I on the whole *not* disappointed by the movie, but there's quite a big, fuzzy orange cat who figures in a few scenes. You can hear purring on the soundtrack.
