Did they ever find out where those police officers that disappeared while on
the job got to. I know they fired ever one of them but no other word about them. wrote in message ... CatNipped wrote: Our mayor has asked FEMA and the federal government for extra funds to put more police officers on the streets, but that doesn't seem likely since we can't even get federal funds to provide school supplies for the huge influx of students to our school system. Oh, don't think that just because there's no money for schools, that means there's no money for law enforcement. It all depends on priorities. Seems like there's always enough money for prisons (if not police), but never enough for social changes that would make prison much less necessary. That's very sad about the woman who offered her home to evacuees and was killed for it. I'm sure that could have been any of us! Joyce |

[[I cringe every time I hear of another crime committed by a Katrina
evacuee here in my adopted city of Houston. In one instance a woman here had taken in two evacuees to live with her. She fed them, bought them clothes, and opened her home to give them a place to stay. They ransacked her home, stole her car, and bludgeoned her to death in return for her kindness.]] The saddest part is that because of the human parasites committing crimes like this, the GOOD people who make up the vast majority of hurricane refugees will get looked at with suspicion. Here's hoping that the parasites end up in jail, wherever they are, whether they stayed behind in New Orleans or migrated elsewhere. May someone in authority somewhere get the vermin the heck off the streets so the decent people, refugees and otherwise, can get on with the business of living their lives. Donna, who sometimes envies Captain and Stanley because they have NO CLUE that evil exists in the world. Lucky cats. |

I think bad fortune has already made it there. I was reading in the news yesterday that Springfield is considering bankruptcy. It's already the second poorest city in Massachusetts, too. |

ROTFLMAO! OK. Hugs, CatNipped Well, you can move here; I already live in that kind of place. Crackheads and hookers, next door and two doors down. Oh, and the crackheads got their 2 year old (still in diapers!) an ATV that he's driving (?) around on the streets! I mean, DUH! He's all over everyone's lawns and doesn't watch for cars. The cops have been down there already and Child Protective Services have been called. I've still seen that kid out there on this thing alone. Granted it's a small ATV and it's electric battery powered, but, come on, where is the sense????? kili |
