Hiding in plain sight
I called Persia. No Persia. I looked everywhere; under the bed, in the
closet in my bedroom, under the tables in the living room. I looked behind my desk in this room and in the closet in here - on the shelf (she likes the shelf) and in the dark corner behind my vintage dresses. No Persia. Where, oh where could my Persia be? I was starting to get concerned. I haven't been outside so she couldn't have gotten out! I repeated the search. Under the bed, in the bedroom closet, under the tables in the living room. Behind my desk, on the spare closet shelf, behind my vintage dresses. As I straightened up from peering in that dark corner I heard what can only be called a "chuckle" from Persia! She must have been quite amused by my antics. She was curled up on the rolled up (standing on end) fat comforter for my sofa bed, right there at waist-level. Right in front of the shelf she likes to lounge on and the closet corner I'd just been searching. Hiding in plain sight! I started to giggle. She yawned, did an upside-downy head and indicated she was perfectly comfortable where she was, thank you very much! Jill -- I used to have a handle on life...but it broke off. |
