A Lovely Afternoon

The weather here (Memphis, TN area) has been great all week. The
temperatures have been in the high 60's farenheit. This afternoon it was
67F, sunny and slightly breezy and not humid in the least.

I'd gotten help from the apartment maintenance man to help me put my
collapsed patio swing back together (it really *is* a two-person job!) but
then it got cold so I couldn't sit outside. Earlier this week I tipped one
of the yard guys with a leaf blower to get rid of the tons of pine needles
on the patio. It took him 5 minutes; had I used my push broom it would have
been a 30 minute job at the very least.

The pesky monkey grass was threatening to come back up in a few spots in the
planting beds so I doused it with the remaining RoundUp a couple of weeks
ago. I bought a similar but $4 cheaper product, Ortho Eliminator (a friend
told me if the first two ingredients were the same go with the cheaper one,
so I did.) Early this morning I blasted those pesky plants. They'll get
another dose in a few days.

This afternoon was gorgeous! so I dug out a book I haven't read for a few
years, put Persia in her kitty walk and we spent a lovely afternoon outside.
Persia got to chatter at some birds and squirrels and I got to chuckle at
her. All in all a great way to spend the afternoon.

I hope this great weather holds. John is due for a visit, arriving next
Wednesday afternoon. He'll be here for a week
