We went to the VA yesterday for the DH's follow up after one week of being
home. so far so good, his incision and the ultrasound of his artery looks
good, his primary care doctor was pleased with all numbers, and she was good
at answering all of our questions, a good day but very long... now he just
has to keep exercising his mind and body to continue to improve.

he made pretty good progress whilst in rehab but now it will take longer and
be slower due to the kind of stroke he had, luckily he is fine for talking
and some walking, he has some problems finding the correct words at time but
in his head they are there he just can't always say what he is thinking,
another good sign as the doctors say he can relearn that part, a milestone
yesterday was when he got right and left correct every time with no
backwards at all, Lee

It sounds as though he is really making progress, even thought it is
sometimes frustratingly slow.

yes he is makng progress and it is often slow, but it is progress, the VA
medical staff have been more than excellent, and his medication co pay is
most reasonable, its ten dollars a script for a three month supply and they
mail it all to us, so the two biggest worries for me, cost meds and actually
getting them are not a stress atm, Lee
