Speckles' lab results came back today. She does, indeed, have
hyperthyroidism. She'll be starting a regimen of pills (she who goes
into tornado-mode at the first sight of one) for a month, then
retested. No cure, of course, but should help with the stomach and
heart-murmur problems. Thanks for your purrs that we'd find a
diagnosis that can be treated. Not the greatest news but at least we
know what's bothering her and can *do* something!

I'm glad you have some answers! Sending good thoughts that the meds
work, and that you don't have too many problems with the regimen. You
might be amazed. Shadow (RB) was very hard to pill at first, but he
sort of got used to it. It'd be good if there's a treat she likes
that you can have her associate it with!

Do you think she might like pill pockets
(http://www.pillpockets.com/index_fs.htm)? They're available at most of
the bigger pet stores and online, and some cats like the taste.

Sorry Speckles hasn't been feeling well, but this is a fairly easy thing
to trat. Only problem is the pilling, of course. I hope you find some
easy way to get around that, like I did with the sourcream. Many purrs
for Speckles to start feeling better soon.
