That's what I'm doing(pick and squish) as the vet advised against Frontline
due to the grooming issue...she knew nothing about the rosemary wash.
:-(..guess I'll do a google on it...thought as it was a non chemical route
it might be good...the little blk male is the bigger of the 2 but the little
baby girl is sure a feisty one! she squirms and rabbit kicks ........with
little bitty feet :-) to get to the prize nipple... :-) Liz

Rabbit kicks that young?? She is going to be a feisty one for sure. Let me know
about the rosemary wash, what you find out. .

As I was checking out Babe and The Babettes this morning I noticed a couple
of fleas on them UCK!!!!!( this area has wood fleas as well as the other
kind, but I'm betting they are animal fleas)....Question...as Babe is (of
course nursing) and Babettes are too tiny to Frontline.... any suggestions
on a safe treatment for them..? I have read that applying a wipe of formerly
steeped rosemary will cause the fleas to leave( which would help..I could
then wash the bedding material)It's suppose to be non toxic but has anyone
tried this treatment on a nursing Mom and newborns? I'll call a vet here
when they open and see if they have any suggestions....but I'd appreciate
ya'lls impute as well....In all my years of feral rescue and kitty
helping/fostering/loving/... I've not had a case of newborns having fleas(I
was lucky)so this has never come up...... :-) Liz

Brewers yeast is supposed to render animals unattractive to fleas, I
think - and many cats really love the stuff. Now Melisande is "indoor
only", fleas are not a factor, but I used to get Brewers Yeast and
Garlic tablets at Trader Joe's, and the cats considered them treats.

.thought as it was a non chemical route
it might be good..

I hate to tell you this, but *everything* is made of chemicals - even water -
good old hydrogen & oxygen. Plants that smell - such as rosemary smell because
of the aromatic oils they contain, which are quite complex chemicals. Please
don't fall into the trap of thinking just becasue something is "natural" it
doesn't contain chemicals and that it's automatically safer than those nasty
chemicals :-)

Cheers, helen s
(off to have a tasty mix of chemcials for breakfast in the form of toast, with
a little spread & raspberry jam)
