Default Potato Chips as presented by an article from Smithsonian Magazine

Here's the link:

The article is entitled 'Food & Think' LOL

"In a study published last year in Gastronomica, student Josh Freedman and
linguist Dan Jurafsky of Stanford examined the language found on 12
different brands of potato chips. They discovered that six less expensive
brands of chips had fewer words on the bags and that those words emphasized
the food's authenticity through tradition and hominess, making claims like
this: "Family-made, in the shadow of the Cascades, since 1921." (In much the
same way politicians aren't prone to usin' highfalutin language around
down-home audiences.)

More expensive potato chips-the ones you might expect to find at health food
stores-tended to distinguish themselves with longer words. Their
descriptions focused more on health and naturalness, emphasizing how they
were different: "No artificial flavors, no MSG, no trans fats, no kidding."
Indeed, for each additional "no," "not," "never," "don't," or "won't" that
appeared on the bag, the price of potato chips climbed an average of four
cents an ounce."

ROFLMAO!

I do, too! They're one of the few snack foods I buy I even like the
unsalted ones.

I grew up with a dog, and never knew any cats until I was in my 30s. When I
was a teenager, I visited a friend who had a cat, and was enchanted by the
fact that the cat liked potato chips. I guess up until then, I thought the
only things cats consumed were fish, birds and milk. ;-)

Persia occasionally gets a potato chip crumb if one happens to fall on the
floor

Sootie did try a cheese flavoured Dorito and enjoyed
it but wasn't interested after that, which tends to be how she is with
human food.

Boyfie once patted my face when I was eating cheese flavoured Doritos so I
gave him one and he loved it. He also does not normally eat human food.
Unless it's roast chicken or roast beef.
He will not eat what KFC loved - what I call smashed up dinner, which is
mashed potatoes, a bit of veg, a tiny bit of meat all covered in gravy.
I think Kitty's feral years when she was fed by kind neighbours with
leftovers gave her a taste for smashed up dinner. She adored Brussels
sprouts.
Boyfie would not dream of eating such muck so I doubt he had been lost for
long when he arrived here.

Kotyo adores all potato chips and tortilla chips. Unfortunately for him,
they are too salty, and we discovered a few years ago that they are one
of the triggers for his cystitis flare ups. So no more tasty chips for
the little monster.

Sweety, on the other hand, does not consider chips to be real food.
