Hi Monika,

Sometimes one has to give the "benefit of the doubt". I did & am
glad. I'm also quite pleased that others have done so too.
I keep my "doors open" that just once in awhile, a person's plea for
help might be real. I do check out what I can before I do something.
In this case I did call the hospital & the info was confirmed. I then
took the responsibility of letting this group know that this "plea"
was for real & for Jack's sake, wanted others to get involved as much
as I tried.
It's sad that ppl jump to pass judgment without the facts. I do hope
that if this should ever come up again, someone pleading for help,
that before passing judgments, that the facts are checked out.
Monika, hang in - You & Jack!
Your friend
Joan

Yes, thank goodness they do have a payment plan...thats one of the
reasons they are my vet although I honestly believe that Jack also
gets the best care there because they help so many animals and have so
much experience and wonderful people and facilities. The payment plan
they have only goes to $1000 though and I've already used about $400
of it but I'm counting on the $600 remaining to pay for part of the
surgeries.

Just out of curiosity have you asked this vet whether or not they have a
payment plan? You say you make very little money so this would be an option.

Thank you for the idea, if people feel more comfortable donating
directly to my vet I found out they can. Here's the address to donate
directly to Jack's account at the SPCA:

The SF/SPCA Animal Hospital
Account #3694
2500 - 16th Street
San Francisco CA 94103

I cannot mail you a thank you card in that event but any help even a
dollar is really appreciated. I'm sure many people in this group
understand how much a pet can mean to a person's life and I'm just
trying to take care of my cat when he is sick. If you'd like a thank
you card you can still make the donation on ebay, just search for item
2242793388.

Everyone will be leary of giving money this way. It's been tried before.
Bogus of course. You'd do much better to set up a donation through the
clinic along with there name, address, and phone number. That way people

can
verify the that what you want to do is legit.

Hello,

I am the caretaker for a very loved cat named Jack. He is an
american shorthair tuxedo cat. Unfortunately, he has bad teeth and
bladder stones that require surgery next week. I simply cannot
afford that on my receptionist pay and am making a plea to any cat
lovers that can help a little bit each hoping it will all add up.
I'll send you a thank you card and let you know how the surgery
went. If you think you can help out a little please look at this
auction on ebay I've set up for him:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?
ViewItem&category=29470&item=2242793388&rd=1&ssPag eName=WDVW

If you know anyone that might also help out please feel free to pass
this on. I really appreciate it!!!!

It's wonderful the way the list of bidders is growing on eBay. Success
breeds success and that is why I want to let everyone know. Some are
bidding $4 and some even up to $100. I'm sure some have sent money directly
to the hospital.

Yup. I did. Online banking makes this sort of thing so much easier.
