Hi folks,

I've collected him and we're home. )

I have to say that Virgin Atlantic were EXCEPTIONALLY GOOD in their
handling of Robbie. There was also a pet dog on Robbies flight, who like
Robbie, is scared of men. Virgin staff at Washington Dulles contacted
London Virgin staff who arranged for an all female crew to pick the
animals up from the plane. They also made sure that the only people
handling Robbie at the Animal Reception Center at Heathrow were women.

I was informed by the Virgin Pet-Liaison guy that yesterday Virgin flew
their 5000th animal into Heathrow. Apparently out of all 5000 animals
Virgin have not had a single animal health or paperwork problem because
their requirements and procedures are so stringent. I can't recommend
Virgin highly enough.

Robbie is now busy exploring my study, where he'll stay for the next
24hrs to settle and relax, and then I'll slowly reintroduce him to the
rest of the guys over the weekend. Thanks for all the wellwishes and
purrs - they definitely helped because everything went very smoothly and
without any hitches whatsoever.

Great news!! I will stop worrying now ;-)
Kudos to Virgin- that is excellent that they handle *all* their
passengers so well. :-)

How very thoughtful and way-above-the-call-of-duty!! I'm thrilled
for you and Robbie. So glad he's home.

Thanks for this. My brother may have to ship his cats once he's sorted
out whether he's going to stay in Hong Kong (They're with his ex in NY
and I think he was thinking it would be kinder to leave them with her
especially the older one) but one reason he's been putting off making
the decision is he had a vile time with BA last time he put a cat on a
plane so telling him about Virgin will be good news and might persuade
him to put them on a plane (I know he misses them)

Wow, big up to Virgin, that's great. Not like another airline I heard
about (KLM) that was shipping some squirrels and didn't have the right
paperwork and destroyed the animals by putting them through a shredder!
I can't believe it's true, it was several years ago but I'm sure it
was on the news, how disgusting is that?

BA are a complete waste of space. I had serious problems with them when
flying a margay one time. I would *NEVER* use them.
I know I'm raving on about Virgin a bit, but they really are utterly
superb. I flew Pandora and Tiger home from the USA with Virgin 2 years
ago and they were exceptional *THEN*. They have since improved!! (If
that's possible). Unlike other airlines, they have a dedicated staff for
the PETS flying scheme and it makes a difference. They fly on average 60
animals a week into Heathrow.

I really can't recommend Virgin highly enough.

I'm so pleased to hear all went well. :-) Welcome back to Britain, Robbie.
