Well, several weeks ago somekitty gnawed on the cord that goes from my
headphone jack on my laptop (main computer) to my external speakers,
totally ruining the cord and thereby making the speakers useless (they
were hardwired, so no just replacing the cable). I had since using the
tinny-sounding internal speakers on my laptop (my ears hear high-pitched
sounds easier than bass, so anything with a high treble is irritating to
me, high bass more pleasing). Bought a new set of speakers (two weeks
ago!!!) just hadn't "installed" them since doing so would mean cleaning
my desk (ACK!!!) and hauling the old set, which included a powered bass
speaker/amp, and two satellite speakers and all their accompanying wires
OUT, and replacing them with the new powered bass/amp and satellite
speakers & all their wires. The reason that whoever chewed on the cable
to begin with is because the headphone jack on my laptop is on the front
and this made the plug and wires fairly prominent and accessible to
whichever kitty was napping on my desk beside/near my laptop....

The New Speakers have an "L" shaped plug, so the cable is easily tucked
along the front of my laptop and creates less of a temptation to kitty
teeth. YAY!!!

At least it was only a speaker cord and NOT a power/electrical cord that
was nommed!

I also have a (partially) clean desk (I will admit, I only cleaned the
half that I needed to access in order to do the job), and eliminated the
pile of old, paid bills that the cats were sleeping on that was giving
them access to the wire that they nommed on to begin with!

Ah, the joys of being a catslave!

Joy

Sometimes being forced to clean is a good thing. I think I'll do a
post about cleaning for the fleas.
