Catnip styles
For the last couple of months Amelia has feeling very put-upon by the
large number of kittens in the house (she seems to think that two kittens is two kittens too many). She's generally been expressing her displeasure with occasional bitchy-cat hisses at Sammy and Tabitha, but this morning she decided she needed a little more attention than usual and that she REALLY wanted some catnip. Within a minute of opening the container of catnip I was surrounded - all 4 kitties decided that catnip sounded like a good idea. I was fascinated by their different styles of enjoying it. Sammy kitten sniffed it and rolled around in it. He tried a taste or two, decided he didn't care for the taste, and resumed rolling his head in it. Tabitha kitten sniffed it, started drooling, then rolled in it so energetically that she looked a black catnip toy. Within a minute of her starting to roll, the paper towel her catnip serving was on with drenched with kitty drool. Cleopatra was more reserved - she sniffed it, rolled her neck fur in it a little bit, then snarfed it all down. She seems to love the taste more than anything else. Amelia sniffed it deeply, rolled her head and neck in it a little, sniffed some more, ate some, then alternated between sniffing and eating. She seemed to enjoy the smell and the taste equally. How about your kitties? How do they like to partake of catnip, if they care for it at all? Dan |
