Default Help! My cat peed on my roommate's bed...

and poops on the floor... it's like he hates his litter box or

I think your cat has a medical issue going on. It's a common reason for a cat
to avoid the litterbox. Maybe you could discuss this with your vet, and have
him checked for urinary problems. If he gets a clean bill of health, you'll
have to start treating it like a behavioral issue.

Yeah that's what I was thinking too... I've also read that declawed
(he's front AND back declawed!) cats can sometimes do this too... (he
was declawed when I got him! I would never do that!)

This is a distinct possibility. First rule out any medical problems, as has
been suggested. Also, there is a much higher incidence of behavioral
problems in declawed cats than in clawed cats. In addition, they often
develop arthritis -- earlier and in a more severe form. If this is a
possibility, try to find the very softest litter you can locate. It may be
that your cat feels pain when he tries to dig in the litter. If that does
not appear to be the problem, you might want to try Cat Attract litter. I
don't have any experience with it, but it has helped with my sister's cat (a
cat that is declawed and exhibits many of the behavioral problems common to
declawed cats, including spraying and urinating outside the box).

Could be either or both--and--make sure you are keeping it clean.
Scoop every single day, change the litter once every two weeks or so,
and be sure to
disinfect the box at least once a month. My cat used to leave presents
in very
conspicuous places when I forgot to scoop.
