keeps up. Being pitch-black has not helped us, even with a flashlight;
she's an expert, my little Black Russian, and had no doubt been a KGB
secret agent in a past life.

Y'know what? I think Odessa and Nocturne need to get together for an
evil contest. Nox is also black, delights in tormenting her lesser
creatures (read, everyone else) and is likely a third world dictator
reincarnate.

*sigh* and we are the lucky enablers who serve them.

First of all, many thanks to all of you who've purred and prayed for me

cat-mama go batsh*t.

Okay, okay, y'all are right. She's pulling a nasty little feline trick
for the sole and specific purpose of scaring the pants off her mama.

About an hour ago she came out of our bedroom, squeaked at me, and took
off. And Louie had been having fits about her getting into the rafters!
I'll give him the what-for about spooking me like that! A bit later I
went and put some stuff in the dryer, turned it on, and she darted from
behind the machine like a cat out of hell, which she may be if this
keeps up. Being pitch-black has not helped us, even with a flashlight;
she's an expert, my little Black Russian, and had no doubt been a KGB
secret agent in a past life. I'm just glad my husband was wrong about
her getting stuck, and that she's hiding but safe. I was more scared
that she snuck out while I was checking the hallway for a package I was
awaiting. That girl's carrying camo in her makeup bag, the little devil!

Blessed be,
Baha

It was not that many weeks ago that Ding went walkabout. I still don't
know if:

1. He got out. There were many gray cat sightings. Arguing
against this is that he lost no weight.
2. He was hiding. Probably the best possibility, although the
other cats seemed agitated.
3. He teleported to the MotherShip for consultations.

Still, I was immensely worried.

One thing that sometimes gets on my nerves is the sheer genetic
prevalence of BW cats. They are all over my neighborhood. One day
when I was coming home, I saw a petite little tuxedo girl in the
street, who was a dead ringer for my Mimi (RB). On closer inspection,
of course it was another cat, but just the sight put my heart into my
mouth. Much to Mimi's bewilderment, when I got home, I picked her up,
and said "DON'T YOU EVER DO THAT AGAIN!"

Back in the '60s we rescued a tiny six toed tuxedo tom kitten. Before
we brought Mittens home there were no tuxedo cats in our neighborhood.
By the time he died, I think all the neighborhood cats were 6 toed
tuxedos. In those days, we were pretty ignorant about neutering, in
fact ignorant about proper health care about pets in general -
undoubtedly why our pets only lived half as long as they do now a
days.

Now, LB and Sammy both have a look alikes who lives across the street.
LB's twin is missing the black spot next to her nose, but Sammy's is a
virtual twin. Both mine are inside kitties, except for supervised
visits, while those across the street are outside cats. At least a
couple times a week I see the neighbor cats and think mine have
managed to get out somehow.
